Even in a mall, the Thai customs apply: a small wai (palms together) is a polite thank-you, and spirit houses and shrines around the building are not for touching.
ICONSIAM opened in 2018 and quickly became one of Bangkok's landmarks. On its ground floor, SookSiam recreates a Thai floating market and regional food streets from all over the country. Outside, the riverside park hosts a fountain show in the evening.
Cross the river from BTS Saphan Taksin.
Walk the restored Chinese pier warehouses in the late afternoon.
Watch the sun go down from the ICONSIAM terrace.

Any time of year; come in the late afternoon for sunset on the river and stay for the evening fountain show.
Free shuttle boat from Sathorn pier (BTS Saphan Taksin), or the Gold Line monorail from BTS Krung Thon Buri.
The easiest arrival is the shuttle boat from Sathorn pier (BTS Saphan Taksin) to the mall's own pier. The Gold Line monorail runs from BTS Krung Thon Buri to Charoen Nakhon station at the mall. Inside, the mall is large — check the floor directory. Grab and taxis queue outside, but traffic on Charoen Nakhon Road is heavy in the evening.
Go at sunset for the river views, then eat at SookSiam.
